About Algerian Dinar Exchange
The Algerian Dinar (DZD) is the official currency of Algeria, issued by the Banque d’Algérie and used across the country for all everyday transactions. We accept all denominations of Algerian Dinar banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current Algerian Dinar Banknotes
Algeria’s current banknotes span a wide range of denominations and feature colourful designs celebrating the country’s history, landscapes, and cultural heritage. The higher-value notes include the 2000 Algerian Dinar note and the 1000 Dinar note, alongside a range of smaller denominations — we accept them all. Unlike most high street exchanges, we handle the full spectrum of Algerian currency, not just the most common notes.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most currency exchange services, we accept withdrawn Algerian Dinar banknotes, including issues going back to the 1960s and 1970s, such as the 500 Dinar 1970 issue and the 100 Dinar 1964 issue. Damaged notes are also considered, provided they remain at least 50% intact. Rates for withdrawn and damaged notes are slightly lower to reflect the additional handling involved, but we will always give you a fair offer.
Algerian Dinar Coins
We also buy Algerian Dinar coins, including a broad selection of denominations from centimes through to higher-value pieces such as the 200 Dinar coin and the 100 Dinar coin. Rates for coins are slightly lower than for banknotes due to the additional handling costs involved, but it is well worth sending them in rather than letting them sit unused in a drawer.
