About Faroese Kronur Exchange
The Faroese Króna is the official currency of the Faroe Islands, a self-governing archipelago in the North Atlantic, and is issued locally but pegged at parity with the Danish Krone. The Faroese Króna does not have a separate ISO 4217 currency code and is conventionally quoted as DKK, the code used for the Danish Krone. We accept all denominations of Faroese Kronur banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current Faroese Kronur Banknotes
The Faroe Islands issue their own distinctive banknotes featuring local wildlife, landscapes, and cultural motifs, setting them apart from standard Danish Kroner notes. We accept all current Faroese Kronur banknotes across a range of denominations, including both lower and higher-value notes — simply send us whatever you have left over from your trip.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we also buy older withdrawn series of Faroese Kronur as well as notes that have seen better days. As long as a note is at least 50% intact, we can make you an offer, though the rate for damaged or withdrawn notes is slightly lower than for current issues. If you’re also sitting on leftover Icelandic Kronur or Norwegian Kroner from a broader Nordic trip, we can handle those too.
Faroese Kronur Coins
We accept Faroese Kronur coins, which most UK banks and currency exchanges will simply turn away. Coins are exchanged at a slightly lower rate than banknotes due to the additional handling involved, but there is no need to sort or separate them before sending.
