About Australian Dollar Exchange
The Australian Dollar (AUD) is the official currency of Australia and one of the most widely traded currencies in the world. We accept all denominations of Australian Dollar banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current Australian Dollar Banknotes
Australia’s current polymer banknotes are some of the most secure in circulation, featuring advanced transparent windows and tactile features designed to deter counterfeiting. We accept all denominations across the current series, including the 100 AUD note issued in 2020 and the 20 AUD note issued in 2019, as well as the 5, 10, and 50 dollar notes and everything in between.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we also buy withdrawn Australian Dollar banknotes, including older paper issues and the earlier polymer series. We accept notes such as the 50 AUD David Unaipon note and older designs including the 100 AUD Sir Douglas Mawson note, right back to the earliest Commonwealth of Australia paper banknotes. Damaged notes are accepted provided they are at least 50% intact, though the rate offered may be slightly lower to reflect their condition.
Australian Dollar Coins
We also exchange Australian Dollar coins, which most banks and currency exchanges in the UK will not accept. Our coin range includes the 2 AUD coin and 1 AUD coin, as well as smaller denominations such as the 50, 20, 10, and 5 cent coins. Rates for coins are slightly lower than for banknotes due to the additional handling involved, but we are happy to take them off your hands. We also buy withdrawn 1 and 2 cent coins, which were removed from circulation decades ago.
