In 1999 the Australian 0.2 coin was first minted by the Royal Australian Mint and now makes up one of the 8 denominations of Australian coins. It was introduced to replace the florin coin. These 0.2-dollar coins are currently still in circulation. The first issue 0.2 cent coins were minted at the Royal Mint, London.
The composition of this 0.2 cent coin is copper and nickel and is circular with a milled edge. The front design of the coin is a duckbill platypus with HM Queen Elizabeth II, the monarch of Australia on the back side of the coin.
