Austrian Schilling coins were issued in 10 different denominations by the Austrian Mint, including this 10 Austrian Groschen coin which was minted first in 1951. The 10 different denominations are part of the Austrian Schilling coins series. In 2002, this 0.1 Austrian Schilling coin was withdrawn from circulation.
The weight of the aluminium composite 10 Groschen coin is 1.1g and it has a diameter of 19mm. The 10 Groschen Austrian coin is equivalent to 1/10th (0.10) of an Austrian Schilling. On the front side of the 10 groschen coin is the Austrian coat of arms (the imperial eagle carrying the Austrian shield on its breast) with broken arms, which signify Austria as an independent country, and the country name as a stylized inscription, and denomination in the scalloped rim. The reverse side of the 0.1 Groschen Austrian coin shows the face value above the year in a scalloped rim.
