The two-ruble coin is the highest coin denomination of the Belarusian currency reformed in 2016, though it bears the 2009 date of its design. It is a bimetallic coin, with a golden-toned ring around a pale centre and a lettered edge, weightier and more distinctive than the lower values.

On the obverse, the coin displays the state coat of arms of Belarus – a rising sun over a globe within a wreath of wheat, clover and flax tied with a national ribbon, surmounted by a five-pointed star – with the name “БЕЛАРУСЬ” and the year beneath.

On the reverse, the numeral 2 and the word “рублі” are set over the traditional Belarusian woven ornament that unifies the coin series, framed within the bimetallic disc.
