Belarus 20 Kopeks (Issued 2009)

The twenty kopeks is a small subunit coin of the Belarusian rouble, where one hundred kopeks make one rouble. Although dated 2009, the coin was released into circulation in 2016 when Belarus introduced its first-ever set of circulating coins. It is struck on a brass-plated steel blank and remains legal tender in everyday use across Belarus. The coin has a reeded edge.

On the obverse appears the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus: a rising sun over a globe showing the outline of the country, framed by a wreath of rye ears interwoven with clover and flax flowers, topped by a five-pointed star, with a ribbon bearing “РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ” across the base. Below the emblem the country name “БЕЛАРУСЬ” and the year “2009” are inscribed.

On the reverse, a large numeral “20” dominates the field with the word “капеек” reading vertically alongside it, set beside a decorative panel of traditional Belarusian rushnyk embroidery ornament. The design is clean and modern, with the value shown plainly.
