About Bermuda Dollar Exchange
The Bermuda Dollar (BMD) is the official currency of Bermuda, pegged at parity with the US Dollar and used exclusively on the island. We accept all denominations of Bermuda Dollar banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current Bermuda Banknotes
Bermuda Dollar banknotes are issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority and feature distinctive island imagery, including Bermuda’s famous wildlife and landmarks. We accept all current denominations — whether you’ve returned with a handful of lower-value notes or a higher-denomination banknote tucked away from your trip.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we buy withdrawn Bermuda Dollar banknotes as well as notes that are torn, worn, or otherwise damaged. As long as a note is at least 50% intact, we can make you an offer, though the rate may be slightly lower than for current series notes. If you’ve come across older Bermuda banknotes — perhaps found in a drawer years after a holiday — it’s well worth sending them in rather than leaving them to gather dust.
Bermuda Dollar Coins
We also accept Bermuda Dollar coins, which is something most banks and exchange bureaux simply won’t do. Our link index includes a range of issued coins, such as the 5 Bermuda Dollar coin issued 1983 and the 1 Bermuda Dollar coin issued 1970, along with smaller cent denominations — so don’t discard any of your leftover change. Rates for coins are slightly lower than for banknotes due to the additional handling involved.
