5000 Brazilian Cruzados Banknote (Machado De Assis) First Issued 1987

Brazilian Cruzado banknotes were issued in different denominations by the Banco Central Do Brasil including this 5000 Brazilian Cruzados banknote (Machado de Assis). This 5000 BRC banknote forms part of the withdrawn series of Brazilian Cruzados banknotes. This 5000 BRC banknote was issued in 1987 and in 1989 were withdrawn from circulation.
The cinqo mil Brazilian Cruzados paper banknote on the front has a portrait of writer and playwright, Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis. In addition, there is the emblem of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, a handwritten excerpt from chapter XXXII – The Retired, from one of his books, Esaú and Jacó (1904). On the reverse a representative print of Primeiro de Março street, in Rio de Janeiro.
