1 GBP = £0.954750
British pound banknotes are issued in different denominations by the Bank of England including this £10 pound banknote featuring King Charles III. This £10 banknote forms part of the current polymer series of British banknotes. This £10 note was issued in 2024 and remains legal tender throughout the United Kingdom.
This £10 polymer banknote is predominantly orange and copper in colour. On the obverse side is a portrait of King Charles III facing left, positioned on the right-hand side of the note. To the left is a detailed vignette of Winchester Cathedral, with an illustration of Jane Austen seated at a writing desk above the building. A transparent polymer window runs vertically through the centre and contains a gold and silver crown, together with a colour-shifting hologram that changes between the word “Ten” and the image of a book when tilted. The wording BANK OF ENGLAND and TEN POUNDS appears across the design along with the Chief Cashier’s signature and serial number.
On the reverse of the note is a portrait of Jane Austen based on an engraved version of her painted likeness. Behind the portrait is an illustration of Godmersham Park in Kent, her former residence. To the left is a silver foil image of Winchester Cathedral, and beside it appears a quotation from Pride and Prejudice: “I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading!” The design also includes a large transparent window with intricate security patterns, a metallic feather motif and repeated micro-text of the value “10”.
