In 1981 Charles, Prince of Wales married Lady Diana Spencer and to mark the occasion the Royal Wedding Crown coin was issued. On the obverse side is conjoined profile portraits of Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. The reverse sideshows a second crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara.
