The People’s Bank of China is responsible for issuing Chinese Yuan coins. Included in this series of coins is this 1 Chinese Jiao coin, part of the series of Chinese Yuan Renminbi coins series. These 1 Jiao Chinese coins were first issued in the year 1999 and in 2003 were withdrawn from circulation.
The aluminium Chinese 1 Jiao coin weighs 1.12g and the value of this coin is equivalent to 1 Chinese Yuan coin. ON the obverse side of the coin is an Orchid blossom and the issuer name above with the wording ‘ZHONGGUO RENMIN YINHANG’, translated to ‘People’s Bank of China’. The reverse side of the coin has the value in large number in the centre of the coin.
