The 2 pesos was a circulating coin of Colombia in the late 1970s, part of the peso coinage of that era. The 1977 issue was struck in an aluminium-bronze alloy, giving it a warm golden colour that distinguished it from the silvery lower denominations. It served everyday transactions across Colombia before being withdrawn as the currency evolved. The coin has a reeded edge.

On the obverse, the coin carries a bust of the independence hero Simón Bolívar in military dress, with the legend “REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA” curving around the rim and the date “1977” at the foot.

On the reverse, the denomination “2 PESOS” is set at the centre, enclosed within a laurel wreath that is tied with a bow at the base. The wreath frames the value cleanly against an open field.
