The ten lipa coin was a minor denomination of the Croatian kuna, which circulated from 1994 until Croatia joined the euro in 2023; one hundred lipa made a kuna. Struck in brass-plated steel with a warm golden colour, it was a small everyday coin. The name lipa means ‘lime tree’, reflecting the botanical theme of the sub-unit coins. The edge is smooth.

On the obverse a large numeral “10” is set among tobacco leaves, with “REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA” arched above, the word “LIPA” below, and the small chequy shield of Croatia near the foot within a decorative border.

On the reverse is a flowering tobacco plant, with its Latin botanical name “NICOTIANA TABACUM” arranged around the field and the year “2006” at the foot. Even-dated coins of this series carry the plant’s scientific name.
