10 Cents — Cyprus (Issued 1985)
The ten-cent coin was one of the mid-range denominations of the Republic of Cyprus’s decimal coinage. Struck in nickel-brass with a golden tone, it is a round coin with a plain edge, used across the island until the euro was introduced in 2008.
On the obverse is the coat of arms of Cyprus — a shield bearing a dove with an olive branch above the date “1960”, set within two olive branches — surrounded by the trilingual legend “CYPRUS · ΚΥΠΡΟΣ · KIBRIS” and the date “1985”.
On the reverse is a stylised ancient ornament showing two birds flanking a central flower, adapted from Cypriot antiquity, with the numeral “10” above.
