The twenty koruna coin is part of the Czech koruna, in use since the country’s independence in 1993. Struck in brass with a golden colour and an unusual thirteen-sided shape, it is one of the higher circulating denominations and is easy to recognise by its outline. The coin has a plain edge on each facet.

On the obverse is the Czech heraldic lion, rampant with two tails and a crown, drawn from the national arms, with “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” arched around the rim, the year “2018” at the foot and a small mint mark.

On the reverse is Saint Wenceslas mounted on horseback carrying a lance and banner, the patron saint of the Czech lands, with the value “20 Kč” to the left and the inscription “SVATÝ VÁCLAVE NEDEJ ZAHYNOUT NÁM I BUDOUCÍM” (Saint Wenceslas, do not let us and those to come perish) set in panels, and the designer’s initials “VO” below.
