Czech Koruna Banknotes & Coins We Accept

To exchange your Czech Koruna for cash, select the coins or banknotes you want to add to your account below.

About Czech Koruna Exchange

The Czech Koruna (CZK) is the official currency of the Czech Republic, one of the few EU member states that has retained its own currency rather than adopting the Euro. We accept all denominations of Czech Koruna banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.

Current Czech Koruna Banknotes

The Czech National Bank issues a range of colourful, well-secured banknotes featuring prominent figures from Czech history. We accept all current denominations, including the 1000 Korun and 500 Korun notes, as well as every smaller denomination in circulation.

Old Series & Damaged Notes

Unlike most high street exchanges, we also buy older Czech Koruna banknotes that are no longer in circulation, such as the 200 Korun issued 1998 and the 50 Korun issued 1993, along with the full range of earlier series. Damaged or worn notes are accepted provided they remain at least 50% intact, though the rate offered may be slightly lower to reflect their condition.

Czech Koruna Coins

We accept Czech Koruna coins across all denominations, including the 50 Korun coin and the 20 Korun coin, right down to the smaller values. Because coins require additional handling and sorting, the exchange rate applied is slightly lower than for banknotes — but unlike most banks and travel money services, we won’t simply turn them away. If you also have leftover Polish Zloty or Hungarian Forints from a European trip, we can exchange those too.

Why Exchange With Us?

  • Competitive exchange rates updated daily
  • Accept coins and damaged notes that banks won’t take
  • We verify your currency and pay you within 5 working days
  • No hidden fees or charges

Czech Koruna Exchange FAQ

Is the Czech Republic planning to adopt the Euro and will my Koruna lose its value?

The Czech Republic remains outside the Eurozone for now, and while there has been ongoing discussion about eventual adoption of the Euro, no firm date has been set. Your Czech Koruna banknotes and coins are still valid and exchangeable today, so there is no immediate rush — but it is always sensible to exchange leftover currency sooner rather than later.

Can I exchange old Czech Koruna banknotes that are no longer in circulation?

Yes, we accept withdrawn Czech Koruna banknotes including older issues such as the 100 Korun issued 1995 and the 20 Korun issued 1994. The rate may be slightly lower than for current notes, but we will make you an offer regardless of the series.

Do you accept Czech Koruna coins as well as banknotes?

Yes! We buy Czech Koruna coins of all denominations, from the larger 50 Korun and 20 Korun pieces down to the 1 Koruna coin. A slightly lower rate applies to coins due to handling costs, but we won’t refuse them as most high street exchanges would.

How do I send my Czech Koruna to you and when will I be paid?

Simply box up your Czech Koruna — whether it is leftover holiday spending money or a larger collection of coins and notes — and post it to us yourself. Once we receive and verify your currency, we will pay you within 5 working days by bank transfer or PayPal. If for any reason you are not happy with our offer, we will return your currency to you free of charge.

Can I exchange a Czech Koruna note that is torn or damaged?

Yes, we do accept damaged Czech Koruna banknotes, provided the note is at least 50% intact. Unlike most travel money services and high street bureaux de change, we will not automatically reject worn or torn notes — though the rate offered for damaged currency will be slightly lower than for notes in good condition. If you are unsure whether a particular note qualifies, feel free to contact us before sending.
