1 Danish Krone (Issued 1984)
The one krone coin of this design was a mainstay of Danish change through the 1970s and 1980s. Struck in copper-nickel with a silvery colour, it is a round coin with a plain edge, made for constant everyday handling before the design was later replaced.
On the obverse is the portrait of Queen Margrethe II facing right, with the legend “MARGRETHE II DANMARKS DRONNING” (Margrethe II, Queen of Denmark) around the rim and the initials of the mint below the bust.
On the reverse are the crowned split arms of Denmark — a shield of three lions and hearts beneath a royal crown — with “1 KRONE” below and the year shown at either side.
