About Danish Kroner Exchange
The Danish Krone (DKK) is the official currency of Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. We accept all denominations of Danish banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current Danish Banknotes
Denmark’s current banknote series features bridges and prehistoric artefacts, with denominations ranging across a variety of values. The higher-value notes, including the 500 kroner and 1000 kroner, incorporate modern security features such as watermarks and colour-shifting ink. We accept all current denominations, including the smaller 50 and 100 kroner notes, so bring everything you have left over from your trip.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we also buy older and withdrawn Danish banknotes, including earlier issues such as the 1000 kroner issued 2004 and the 50 kroner issued 1999, as well as much older notes going back several decades. Damaged notes are accepted provided they remain at least 50% intact, though the rate offered may be slightly lower than for notes in good condition. If you have Scandinavian currency from other countries too, we also exchange Norwegian Kroner and Swedish Kronor.
Danish Krone Coins
We accept a wide range of Danish coins, including current issues such as the 20 krone coin and the 10 krone coin, as well as older withdrawn coin designs. Rates for coins are slightly lower than for banknotes due to the additional handling involved, but we accept all denominations including the smaller 1, 2, and 5 krone pieces and the 50 øre coin.
