10 Cents, Netherlands (Juliana, Issued 1957)
This ten cent piece was part of the Dutch guilder, the currency of the Netherlands until the euro changeover in 2002, with one hundred cents to the guilder. Struck in nickel with a silvery-grey colour, it was a light, everyday coin issued during the reign of Queen Juliana. The edge is smooth.
On the obverse is the head of Queen Juliana facing right, with the legend “JULIANA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN” (Juliana, Queen of the Netherlands) running around the rim.
On the reverse a royal crown sits above a large “10 CENT”, with the date split as “19 60” to either side and small mint marks at the foot, all within a beaded border.
