5 Cents Coin — East Caribbean States (Queen Elizabeth II)

The East Caribbean five cents is a small denomination of the currency used across the member states of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. This issue is struck in light aluminium with a wavy, scalloped outline, making it thin, light and easy to distinguish from other coins by feel. Its simple modern styling belongs to the reverse series introduced in the early 2000s.

On the obverse, the coin carries the uncrowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, signed with the initials “IRB” for the engraver Ian Rank-Broadley, and the legend “QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND” follows the scalloped edge.

On the reverse, a large central numeral “5” is set between two curved laurel sprigs tied with a bow at the base. The inscription “EAST CARIBBEAN STATES” arcs above with the year to the right, and “FIVE CENTS” is written along the bottom.
