20 Senti (Issued 1992)

The 20 senti was a minor coin of the Estonian kroon, the currency reintroduced in 1992 when Estonia restored its own money after independence, and it remained in use until the euro was adopted on 1 January 2011. Struck in golden aluminium-bronze, it was a light, durable piece intended for everyday small change. Its reeded edge helped set it apart from the smaller and larger coins of the same golden series.

On the obverse, the coin carries the national arms of Estonia — the three heraldic lions passant, one above the other — with the year of striking, 1992, divided to either side of the emblem. A beaded circle frames the design within the raised rim.

On the reverse, a large numeral “20” dominates the field above the word “SENTI”, while the legend “EESTI VABARIIK”, meaning Republic of Estonia, curves around the upper rim. The plain field and clear numerals made the value easy to read at a glance.
