50 Senti (Issued 1992)

The 50 senti was the highest of the golden minor coins of the Estonian kroon, the currency reintroduced in 1992 and withdrawn when Estonia joined the euro on 1 January 2011. Struck in aluminium-bronze with a warm golden tone, it was slightly larger than the 10 and 20 senti and carried a reeded edge to aid identification. It served as a practical everyday coin for change and small purchases.

On the obverse, the coin bears the national arms of Estonia — the three heraldic lions passant, one above the other — with the date 1992 placed to either side and a beaded circle framing the emblem.

On the reverse, a bold numeral “50” fills the centre above the word “SENTI”, while the legend “EESTI VABARIIK”, Republic of Estonia, curves along the upper rim. The clean field and large figures make the value immediately legible.
