About Estonian Krooni Exchange
The Estonian Kroon (EEK) was the official currency of Estonia from 1992 until the country adopted the Euro in 2011, making all Krooni banknotes and coins withdrawn from circulation. We accept all denominations of Estonian Kroon banknotes and coins, including older issues and any notes that may have become worn or damaged over the years.
Current Estonian Kroon Banknotes
As Estonia now uses the Euro, there are no current-series Kroon banknotes in circulation. All Kroon notes issued during Estonia’s post-independence era are now withdrawn, though they remain exchangeable with us. We accept the full range of denominations issued, including the 500 Kroon note and the 100 Kroon note, as well as all smaller denominations.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we accept worn, torn, or otherwise damaged Estonian Kroon notes — provided they are at least 50% intact. Notes in poorer condition are accepted at a slightly reduced rate to reflect the additional handling involved. If you have a mix of denominations, such as the 50 Kroon or the 25 Kroon alongside smaller notes, we’ll assess them all together. Estonia’s Baltic neighbours had similar currency transitions — if you also have Latvian Lats or Lithuanian Litu tucked away, we can exchange those too.
Estonian Kroon Coins
We also accept Estonian Kroon coins, including senti (the subdivisions of the Kroon), across all denominations. Coins are exchanged at a lower rate than banknotes due to the additional handling and sorting costs involved, but unlike many currency exchange services, we won’t turn them away.
