10 Pennia Finland (Issued 1974)
The 10 penniä was a minor circulating coin of the Finnish markka, the currency in use in Finland until the euro arrived in 2002. This type carries a warm golden aluminium-bronze finish and a light, sturdy build well suited to daily change. Its size and plain rim kept the little coin easy to identify.
On the obverse, the Finnish heraldic lion rampant — crowned, wielding a sword and stepping on a sabre — occupies the centre, ringed by the legend “SUOMEN TASAVALTA” with the year 1974 and a mint mark below.
On the reverse, a bold “10” and the word “PENNIÄ” sit beside a stylised plant sprig, all framed by a beaded border.
