About French Franc Exchange
The French Franc (FRF) was the official currency of France for centuries before the country adopted the Euro in 2002, making every remaining Franc a withdrawn banknote or coin. We accept all denominations of French Franc banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current French Franc Banknotes
France has used the Euro since 2002, so there are no current French Franc banknotes in circulation. All French Franc banknotes are now withdrawn and treated as collector or legacy currency — see the section below for full details on what we accept.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we buy the full range of withdrawn French Franc banknotes, including well-known designs such as the 500 Franc note featuring Pierre and Marie Curie and the 200 Franc Gustave Eiffel note, along with all other denominations. We also accept damaged or worn notes, provided at least 50% of the banknote remains intact, though the rate offered may be slightly lower to reflect the condition.
French Franc Coins
We accept French Franc coins across all denominations. As with other withdrawn coinage — such as the old Deutsche Mark or Spanish Peseta coins — the exchange rate for coins is slightly lower than for banknotes due to the additional handling involved, but we will still give you a fair return on whatever you have.
