Indian Rupee banknotes were issued in different denominations by the Reserve Bank of India including this 500 Indian Rupee banknote (Gandhi Red Fort). This 500 INR banknote forms part of the current series of Indian Rupee banknotes. This 500 INR banknote was issued in 2016 and are currently still in circulation.
This five hundred Indian Rupee paper banknote is dark olive in colour. On the obverse side is a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi with the Ashoka emblem to the right. Security enhanced features include a windowed security thread which changes colour from green to blue when the note is tilted. On the back is an image of the coloured Indian Flag on the Red Fort, Delhi. Wording printed on the banknote translates to:
