100000 Indonesian Rupiah (2022 -2025)
£3.015000
1 IDR = £0.000030
The 100,000 Indonesian Rupiah banknote issued from 2022 onward represents the highest denomination in Indonesia’s current circulating currency series and reflects a blend of national history, cultural heritage, and advanced security printing. Issued by Bank Indonesia, this note remains legal tender in Indonesia, but is frequently presented for exchange outside the country once travel ends or holdings become surplus.
On the front of the banknote is a detailed dual portrait of Ir. Soekarno and Drs. Mohammad Hatta, Indonesia’s first President and Vice President. The portraits are rendered in fine intaglio engraving, giving depth and texture to facial features, clothing folds, and headwear. Surrounding the portraits are intricate guilloché patterns, colour-shifting inks, and layered geometric motifs that change tone under light. The denomination “100000” appears prominently in bold numerals, alongside the words Seratus Ribu Rupiah. Security features include a vertical security thread, microtext, latent images, and tactile elements designed to assist the visually impaired. The national emblem, Garuda Pancasila, appears near the upper section, reinforcing the note’s official status.
The reverse of the banknote celebrates Indonesian performing arts and natural beauty. It features a traditionally dressed female dancer in mid-movement, her costume and flowing fabric depicted with exceptional detail and motion. Behind her is a scenic coastal landscape with islands and water, representing Indonesia’s maritime identity. Decorative floral elements and cultural motifs frame the scene, while the denomination “100000” is repeated in large numerals for clarity. The background incorporates fine linework, colour gradients, and dot patterns that enhance both visual appeal and anti-counterfeiting protection.
