The 25 paisa coin was a small fractional denomination of the Kingdom of Nepal, worth one quarter of a rupee, struck in cupro-nickel with a silvery colour. Its inscriptions are written in Devanagari script, and it circulated as low-value small change during the reign of King Birendra.

On the obverse, a central circular medallion contains a khadga (upright ceremonial sword or dagger) flanked by curved grain sprays, with Devanagari legends around it. The medallion is enclosed by a broad lotus-petal border carrying further Devanagari inscriptions and the country name.

On the reverse, a similar petalled and circular arrangement carries the Devanagari denomination and royal legend with the date in Devanagari numerals, framed by a beaded border within the raised rim.
