The 5 baisa is a small fractional coin of the Omani rial, one thousand baisa making a rial. Struck in bronze with a warm reddish-brown colour, it is a small, light coin. The coin has a plain edge and belongs to the Omani baisa coinage.

On the obverse appears the national emblem of Oman — a khanjar dagger in its sheath crossed over two curved swords — with the Arabic inscription naming the Sultanate of Oman around the rim.

On the reverse, the Arabic numeral and the value “5 baisa” are shown in Arabic, with the dual dates 1410 AH and 1990 around the design, within a raised rim.
