The one-zloty coin is a core denomination of Poland’s decimal coinage, introduced with the redenominated zloty in 1995. Struck in a cupronickel alloy with a silvery colour and a milled edge, it is a compact, hard-wearing piece designed for constant everyday circulation.
On the obverse, the crowned white eagle — the national emblem of Poland — spreads its wings at the centre, with the inscription ‘RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA’ and the year 2008 around it, and the mint mark below.
On the reverse, the denomination ‘1 ZŁOTY’ is displayed within a design of stylised leaves and plant sprigs, framed by the raised rim.
