About Polish Zloty Exchange

The Polish Zloty (PLN) is the official currency of Poland, used by millions of travellers and Polish residents across the UK every year. We accept all denominations of Polish Zloty banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.

Current Polish Zloty Banknotes

The current Polish Zloty banknote series features a range of denominations printed on high-quality paper with modern security features including watermarks, security threads, and holographic strips. We accept all current banknotes, including the 500 PLN note and higher-value notes such as the 200 PLN note, as well as every smaller denomination in between.

Old Series & Damaged Notes

Unlike most high street exchanges, we buy older Polish Zloty banknotes alongside worn or damaged ones. We accept notes including the 100 PLN and 50 PLN issued notes, provided they are at least 50% intact. The rate for damaged or heavily worn notes may be slightly lower, but we will always make you a fair offer rather than turning you away empty-handed.

Polish Zloty Coins

We also buy Polish Zloty coins, which many exchanges refuse outright. Whether you have the 5 PLN coin, the 2 PLN coin, or smaller Groschen denominations, we will exchange them all. Coin rates are slightly lower than banknote rates due to additional handling costs, but there is no reason to throw them away.

Why Exchange With Us?

  • Competitive exchange rates updated daily
  • Accept coins and damaged notes that banks won’t take
  • We verify your currency and pay you within 5 working days
  • No hidden fees or charges

Polish Zloty Exchange FAQ

Does Poland still use the Zloty, or has it switched to the Euro?

Yes, Poland still uses the Polish Zloty (PLN) as its official currency and has not adopted the Euro. If you have leftover Zloty from a recent trip to Poland, your notes and coins are current and fully exchangeable with us. Poland remains one of the larger EU economies outside the Eurozone, so the Zloty remains very much in active circulation.

Can I exchange Polish Zloty coins as well as banknotes?

Yes! We accept a wide range of Polish Zloty coins, including Zloty denominations such as the 5 PLN and 1 PLN, as well as smaller Groschen coins. Coin exchange rates are slightly lower than banknote rates due to handling costs, but we will not turn you away just because you have coins rather than notes.

I have an old or damaged Polish Zloty note — can I still exchange it?

Yes, we accept older and damaged Polish Zloty banknotes that many high street exchanges and banks will refuse. As long as a note is at least 50% intact, we can make you an offer, though the rate may be slightly lower than for a crisp current note. Simply send us your currency, and we will assess it and let you know what we can offer.

How do I send my Polish Zloty to you and when will I be paid?

Just box up your Polish Zloty banknotes and coins and post them to us yourself — many of our customers returning from Poland find this far more convenient than hunting for a local exchange that accepts coins. Once we receive and verify your currency, we will pay you within 5 working days by bank transfer or PayPal. If you are not happy with our offer for any reason, we will return your currency to you free of charge.

Do you accept the 500 PLN banknote?

Yes, we accept the 500 PLN note, which is the highest denomination in the current Polish Zloty series. Higher-value notes are sometimes harder to exchange on the high street, but we are happy to take them alongside any other denominations you have.
