This 2 Rubles coin was a circulation piece of the Russian Rubles system, struck between 2002 and 2009. It was made of nickel brass, a durable pale-golden alloy, and weighed 5.1 g with a diameter of 23 mm. Round in shape, it served as an everyday circulation coin in Russia before being withdrawn.
The obverse features in the centre the Emblem of the Bank of Russia, the two-headed eagle with wings down, together with the denomination, the year of issue and the mint trade mark.
The reverse shows the value together with a flower.
