This 50 Kopecks piece is a current circulation coin of the Russian Rubles system, struck from 2006 onwards. The obverse carries in the centre the relief image of Saint George the Warrior on horseback, killing a serpent with a spear. Running along the rim from left to right is the inscription “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), divided by the figure of Saint George, and below the serpent appears the year of mintage.

The reverse shows, slightly to the right of centre, the denomination: the number 50 above the word “КОПЕЕК” (KOPECKS) written horizontally at the bottom of the disc, with a stylised vegetable ornament in the form of two branches below.
