The 25 halalas was a mid-value circulating coin of the Saudi Riyal, equal to a quarter of a riyal, issued in the reign of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz. Struck in cupro-nickel with a silvery surface that tones with wear, it had a solid, durable feel and a reeded edge, and was a common piece of everyday change in the decimal coinage of one hundred halalas to the riyal.

On the obverse, the national emblem of Saudi Arabia appears at the centre — a date palm above two crossed swords — with Arabic inscriptions curving around the field naming the ruler above and “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” below, in keeping with the tradition of no human images.

On the reverse, the value is shown as “25” and “٢٥” to either side, with the Arabic words for “twenty-five halalas” across the top. A central circular cartouche reads “quarter riyal” in Arabic, and the Islamic (Hijri) date “١٣٩٢” is set at the foot.
