The one-koruna coin was a base denomination of the Slovak koruna, the currency of Slovakia from its independence in 1993 until the country adopted the euro in 2009. Struck in a brass-plated steel with a golden colour and a plain edge, it is a small, hard-wearing everyday coin now withdrawn.

On the reverse, a Gothic sculpture of the Madonna and Child forms the central motif, with the denomination ‘1 Sk’ beside it and the raised rim framing the design.
