The ten-korun coin was the highest circulating denomination of the Slovak koruna before Slovakia adopted the euro in 2009. It is a bimetallic piece with a silver-coloured outer ring and a golden centre, a milled edge and a solid, substantial feel, and is now withdrawn from circulation.
On the obverse, the coat of arms of Slovakia — the double-barred cross on three hills — is shown, with the legend ‘SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA’ and the year 2003.
On the reverse, an ornamented cross bearing stylised human figures, based on an early medieval decorative cross, forms the central motif, with the denomination ’10 Sk’ alongside.
