This 10 Won piece is a former circulation coin of the South Korean won, struck between 1983 and 2006. It was made from brass, an alloy of 65% copper and 35% zinc, giving it a golden colour. The coin is round, weighs 4.06 grams and measures 22.86 mm across, a small low-denomination piece used in everyday cash transactions. It has since been withdrawn from circulation.

The obverse features the Dabotap Pagoda in Gyeongju, one of the country’s national treasures, dividing the value in Hangul on both sides. The lettering reads “십 원”, meaning “Ten Won”.

The reverse carries the value together with “Bank of Korea” in Hangul. The lettering reads “2002 10 한국은행”, giving the year, the face value and the Bank of Korea as issuer.
