The 20 Millimes is a withdrawn circulation coin of Tunisia struck between 1960 and 2005 (AH1380-1426). It is made of brass, weighs 4.5 g and measures 22 mm in diameter, with a round shape. As a small everyday denomination issued over more than four decades, it saw broad circulation before being withdrawn. Its brass composition gave it a golden tone and the durability suited to frequent use.
The obverse carries an inscription and the dates within the centre circle of the design. The legend is in Arabic script and names the “Central Bank of Tunisia”, with the dates given as “1997 – 1418”.
The reverse shows the value within the centre of the design. The inscription, in Arabic script, reads “Twenty millimes”.
