The 50 Millimes is a withdrawn circulation coin of Tunisia struck between 1960 and 2009 (AH1380-1430). It is made of brass, weighs 6 g and measures 25 mm in diameter, with a round shape. As a low-value everyday denomination issued over nearly five decades, it circulated widely before being withdrawn. Its brass composition gave it a golden appearance and the resilience required for regular use.
The obverse carries an inscription and the dates within the centre circle of the design. The legend is in Arabic script and names the “Central Bank of Tunisia”, with the dates given as “1997 – 1418”.
