About Vietnamese Dong Exchange
The Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the official currency of Vietnam, issued by the State Bank of Vietnam. We accept all denominations of Vietnamese Dong banknotes and coins, including older series and damaged notes.
Current Vietnamese Dong Banknotes
Current Vietnamese Dong banknotes are printed on polymer and feature a range of denominations, with higher-value notes such as the 500,000 VND and 200,000 VND being the most commonly returned by travellers. All denominations are accepted, including smaller notes that are often overlooked after a trip. Unlike many high street exchanges, we will assess your full collection rather than cherry-picking only the highest values.
Old Series & Damaged Notes
Unlike most high street exchanges, we accept older withdrawn Vietnamese Dong banknotes as well as damaged or worn notes that other services typically turn away. We do ask that damaged notes are at least 50% intact to be eligible for exchange. Rates for old or damaged notes are applied at a slightly lower rate to reflect the additional handling involved. If you are also sitting on leftover currency from other Southeast Asian trips, we exchange Thai Baht and Lao Kip too.
Vietnamese Dong Coins
We accept Vietnamese Dong coins, which are rarely taken back by banks or bureaux de change in the UK. Due to the additional handling involved, coins are exchanged at a lower rate than banknotes, but it is still worth sending them in rather than leaving them in a drawer. Please ensure coins are loose and not taped or bagged in sealed rolls.
