Terms and Conditions of Service
Using Our Service
You must be 18 years or older, or have parental consent, to use our currency exchange service. You must either own the coins and banknotes you submit or have permission from the rightful owner.
Authenticity of Currency
We do not accept counterfeit, altered, heavily damaged, or defaced coins or banknotes. All banknotes must retain their full security features, have a visible and legible serial number, and have no more than 25% missing.
Currency suspected to be counterfeit or intentionally damaged will be rejected and returned to you at your expense using the Royal Mail Signed For service.
Legal Ownership
Currency obtained unlawfully cannot be exchanged. If there are concerns regarding the origin of the money, we may request further information. If concerns remain unresolved, the transaction will be declined, and items can be returned at the customer’s expense.
Anti-Money Laundering Regulations (AMLR) Compliance
Coin and Note Sales Ltd T/A We Buy All Currency complies with UK Anti-Money Laundering Regulations (AMLR) and is supervised by HMRC.
For transactions over £1,000.00 (or a series of linked transactions of £1,000 or over in 12 months), we require:
- A valid UK photo ID (passport or driving licence); and
- A recent utility bill (no older than three months) showing proof of your residential address; and
- A brief written explanation detailing the source of the funds being exchanged.
We securely retain this information offline for five years as required under AMLR.
Accepted Currency
We accept coins and banknotes listed as eligible on our website if you are listing your individual currencies. For unsorted currency, we accept all currency, regardless of age.
If you request that items not accepted or excluded be returned, postage charges will apply.
Exchange Rates and Valuation
Exchange values are calculated based on the rates listed on our website. Our rates are updated daily and may differ from official or market exchange rates.
There are no hidden commissions or fees.
If you use our online service, the exchange rate is locked for 14 days from the checkout date. Currency received after this period will be processed using the rate in effect on the day we process your submission.
Sending Your Currency
Sending coins and banknotes is at the customer’s risk. We recommend using tracked or signed-for delivery services, especially for shipments valued over £10. We are not responsible for items lost in transit.
Incomplete Exchange Information
Incorrect or missing information may delay processing. If we cannot process your exchange due to missing details, we will contact you using the email address provided. We are not responsible for any errors caused by incorrect customer information.
Payments
Payments can only be made by UK bank transfer to a bank account held in the same name as the sender or via PayPal.
We aim to process and pay within five working days after receiving your currency and completing all necessary checks.
No payment charges or fees are deducted.
Customer Restrictions
We only accept currency sent from within the United Kingdom and make payments exclusively into UK bank accounts in the sender’s name.
We do not accept currency submissions from outside the UK.
Incorrect Details
Providing incorrect or incomplete payment or contact information can lead to delays, misdirected payments, or additional costs that will be passed on to the customer. We are not liable for any losses resulting from incorrect information provided by the customer.
Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with GDPR and our Privacy Policy. If you create an online account, we recommend logging out after each session, especially when using shared or public computers.
Errors and Omissions
We strive for accuracy but are not responsible for typographical or system errors. Submissions based on incorrect rates will be rejected, and items will be returned free of charge.
